Info Post
Following Thursday's outing, the team once again gathered on Friday July 3rd, for a consecutive day of banding Ospreys and Barn Owls. Things seemed a bit more normal from the crowded affair we had on Thursday, though we still had a couple of additional visitors. National Park Service would later join us. Again, rather than get into a lengthy post, I will summarize that the day was another successful one. Even though the Osprey numbers were down from last year, most if not the entire team were happy that we had a number of nests that were successful given the weather we had.

One of the highlights of our trip. This was a young female Barn Owl that we found in a nest box in a location where the records show we have little to no success, so the team were rather excited about this find.

We were on our way to put up a new nest box when this bird was spotted. The Cattle Egret, is not a common bird for this location and so it was a very good find. I believe that it was Eva from our banding team who spotted and called this bird. Tags: , , ,
